Parramatta Eels and Ronald McDonald House Celebrate Longest Charity Partnership in Australian Sport
The Parramatta Eels and Ronald McDonald House Charities (RMHC) have proudly marked a historic milestone, celebrating the longest continuous charity partnership in Australian sport.
In a heartwarming event that brought together sport, community, and compassion, the celebration was held through RMHC’s Meals from the Heart program, with the support of the Eels’ principal partner, James Hardie.
As part of the celebration, James Hardie staff stepped into the kitchen at Ronald McDonald House in Westmead to cook meals for families currently staying at the house. They were joined by 14 Parramatta Eels players, who volunteered their time after a training session to serve the meals, spend time with the children, and connect with families doing it tough.
Parramatta Eels CEO Jim Sarantinos said the day was a powerful reminder of the strength and spirit of the Eels’ long-standing relationship with Ronald McDonald House.
“Our partnership with Ronald McDonald House is incredibly special, not just because of its history, but because of the difference it continues to make,” Sarantinos said.
“To be celebrating the longest-running charity partnership in Australian sport is something we’re extremely proud of. What makes it even more meaningful is the shared journey we’ve had with our principal partner, James Hardie. Events like today show just how wonderful our community is when we come together for a cause.”
This celebration reflects the enduring legacy of a partnership that continues to provide support to families when they need it most.
