Leeds Rhinos will be without five of their first 13 squad numbers for the Magic Weekend clash with St Helens in Newcastle.
Rhinos have nobody back in contention ahead of their visit to St James’ Park, but at least three of their casualties could be in contention for the home game against Hull FC in two weeks’ time. Saints also have injury problems going into tomorrow’s (Saturday) huge showdown between the sides placed fifth and sixth in Betfred Super League. Here’s who’s definitely ruled out and when they could return to action.
1. Leeds Rhinos v St Helens
2. Andy Ackers (Rhinos)
The first-choice hooker tore a hamstring against St Helens on March 14 and was expected to be sidelined for up to three months.
3. Joe Batchelor (Saints)
The second-rower limped out of the Good Friday defeat by Wigan Warriors after injuring a hamstring. He was expected to be sidelined for around two months.
4. James Bell (Saints)
The second-row/loose-forward suffered a fractured foot during Saints win against Wakefield Trinity on April 11. He is three-four weeks away from a return.
5. Ethan Clark-Wood (Rhinos)
Ethan Clark-Wood The Australian outside-back suffered an ankle syndesmosis late in the reserves’ win against St Helens on March 27. He is expected back on the field within the next two weeks.
6. Brodie Croft (Rhinos)
The stand-off suffered a hamstring injury during Rhinos’ defeat at Warrington Wolves on March 28. He’s set to return for Leeds’ next game, at home to Hull in two weeks’ time.
7. Kyle Feldt (Saints)
The winger, who scored four tries in his first five games for Saints, underwent surgery in March after damaging ligaments in a hand. He is expected back in mid-June.
8. Ryan Hall (Rhinos)
The veteran winger rolled an ankle against Hull KR last week. He’s expected to be available for the Rhinos’ next game, at home to Hull FC on Friday, May 16.
9. Konrad Hurrell (Saints)
The former Rhinos center is sidelined with a hamstring injury but is expected to be back in full training in the next week or so.
10. Ben Littlewood (Rhinos)
The 20-year-old forward underwent surgery on a hamstring injury early in preseason. He is back running, but no return date has been given.
11. Ned McCormack (Rhinos)
The rookie center hasn’t played since suffering hamstring damage in the act of scoring against Warrington last July. He has had an operation and could be sidelined for the entire season.
12. Harry Robertson (Saints)
The outside back has been out of action since suffering a quad muscle injury against Wakefield Trinity on April 11. He was expected to be sidelined for six to eight weeks.
13. Max Simpson (Rhinos)
The centre had hoped to be back on the field in March, for the first time since an anterior cruciate ligament tear in January, 2023, but sustained a separate hamstring injury in training and there is no confirmed return date.
